Highs and Lows

Someone told me once that being an artist was like being a drug addict. The high comes when you think up some Really Great Idea and start working away at it. Then you crash when you realize it’s not as great as you first thought it was. So you kick it aside. Then you go into withdrawal and get the craving to start all over again.

It’s an interesting idea. But I think I spend more time on the crash than anything else. Maybe I need to do better drugs…I mean, art.
